Coursera has completed its merger with Udemy, forming a $2.5 billion online skills platform amid rising demand for AI training. The combined entity now serves over 290 million learners and 18,000 enterprise customers, offering more than 315,000 courses. The merger aims to enhance skills discovery and development as AI reshapes job markets.
Under the all-stock transaction, Udemy shareholders received 0.8 Coursera shares per Udemy share, with Coursera shareholders owning 59% of the new company. Coursera will continue trading on the NYSE under the ticker COUR, while Udemy's stock is delisted from Nasdaq. The merger is expected to generate $115 million in cost synergies within two years, with no immediate changes to user access or content agreements.
