The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has filed a lawsuit against the state of Utah seeking to block its investigation and enforcement actions against federally regulated prediction markets. This marks the tenth state the CFTC has sued in its ongoing jurisdictional dispute over prediction market oversight. Utah had previously sued Kalshi and two Susquehanna-affiliated entities in October, prompting the federal regulator's preemptive legal action to assert exclusive authority over these markets.
