Ronnie Cohen-Pavon, former Chief Revenue Officer of Celsius, has been sentenced to one year of supervised release by a U.S. federal judge, avoiding further prison time. Cohen-Pavon, who was previously convicted of manipulating Celsius’s CEL token and fraud, had already served time since his arrest in September 2023. As part of a plea agreement, he agreed to forfeit over $1 million in assets and pay a $40,000 fine. Cohen-Pavon was charged alongside former CEO Alex Mashinsky, who received a 12-year prison sentence. The Celsius collapse in 2022 resulted in billions in customer losses. Meanwhile, the Tornado Cash case, involving co-founder Roman Storm, continues to unfold, potentially setting a precedent for developers of decentralized protocols.
