The Avalanche Foundation has launched a new initiative offering grants of up to $50,000 for academic research in decentralized network economics. This program, part of the "Call For Research Program," will be overseen by an independent review committee comprising members from Ava Labs, the Avalanche Foundation, and external experts in economics and decentralized network design. The initiative focuses on two primary research areas: cryptocurrency pricing and valuation, and validator economics and cybersecurity mechanism design. The committee, which includes notable scholars such as Campbell Harvey, Fahad Saleh, and Agostino Capponi, will evaluate proposals based on criteria like research relevance, methodological rigor, and innovation. Emin Gün Sirer emphasized that Avalanche's foundation in academic research is central to this initiative, aiming to deepen understanding of economic issues in decentralized networks.
