AI trading agent startup Catalyst has secured $30 million in seed funding led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Jump Trading, Peak XV, Lux Capital, AntiFund, Coinbase, and Premji Invest. Founded in 2025 by Justin Zheng and Dylan Iskandar, the company develops AI agents that enable retail investors to formulate and execute trading strategies using natural language inputs. The platform converts user-defined investment goals into actionable trading strategies, handling asset selection, cost optimization, and trade execution while requiring final user confirmation before orders are placed. Catalyst has already completed testing phases for high-frequency trading users as it prepares to bring its AI-powered trading tools to market.
