IOTA Price Prediction 2026-2030 and Its Supply Calendar

Key Points

Uncover detailed IOTA price predictions for 2026-2030 plus its supply calendar, technical analysis, and key support levels. Explore insights now!

IOTA's Move-based layer-1 network runs on the IOTA token, which closed 3 October 2026 at $0.0543559 on CoinMarketCap. Our IOTA price prediction puts the 2026 base case at $0.0434 to $0.0544. Reclaiming the $0.1127 close of 6 January 2026 takes a 107.4% rise, and the $0.0318 all-time closing low of 16 August sits 41.5% lower.

IOTA's supply runs on two clocks, a mint of 767,000 IOTA every 24-hour epoch and a release of about 12.37 million previously locked IOTA every 14 days. Together they lifted CoinMarketCap's circulating count 14.77% in the year to 3 October 2026. By our count from the cadence, the 26 releases left run out around 29 September 2027.

What Is IOTA?

IOTA's validators secure the network through delegated proof of stake. Holders stake the token and pay gas fees with it, and it carries their on-chain votes on protocol upgrades, according to IOTA's token documentation.

The network took its current form in the Rebased upgrade, which began moving balances off the older Stardust network at 09:00 CEST on 5 May 2025. Stardust ran on the Tangle, IOTA's original ledger, and Phemex's explainer on how a directed acyclic graph differs from a blockchain covers the design behind it.

The same docs say 4,600,000,000 IOTA migrated from Stardust and that 767,000 new IOTA arrive each epoch. As a result, IOTA has "no fixed maximum supply", and the docs add that total supply moves with the balance between that inflation and fee burning.

Where Is the IOTA Price After the 3 October Close?

IOTA closed the 3 October 2026 bar at $0.0543559 on CoinMarketCap, up 1.55% from $0.0535261 on 2 October. CoinGecko printed $0.0542871 for the same close. Settled volume for the day came to $4,996,007, and CoinMarketCap's count of 4,674,058,799 IOTA put the market value at about $254.1 million.

IOTA finished 32.68% below its $0.0807380 close of 31 December 2025 and 71.49% below the $0.1906405 close of 3 October 2025. Its market value fell a smaller 67.28% over that year, from $776.4 million, because every new IOTA took a slice of the value.

The heaviest trading of the climb off the August low came on 28 September, when IOTA gained 9.15% on $66,378,953 of volume, 8.19 times the average of the prior 30 bars. At 14:30 UTC on 4 October 2026, IOTA's blog feed carried no post after 30 July 2026, so no blog post explains that day.

Every level in this forecast comes from CoinMarketCap's daily bars, because CoinGecko's IOTA closes ran a median 17.1% and up to 41.4% away from them on the 77 days from 9 January to 26 March 2026. That stretch holds CoinGecko's false 2026 high close of $0.1126523 on 10 January.

What Does IOTA's Price History Show?

IOTA's first CoinMarketCap close was $0.590255 on 13 June 2017, and six months later it set the record that still stands. It closed at $5.3663 on 19 December 2017 after an intraday high of $5.6900 at 20:09 UTC. The 3 October 2026 close is 98.99% under that record, and getting back would take a 98.7-fold rise.

A record that far off turns every long-range band into a near-hundredfold span, so the forecast ladder puts H0 in its place. H0 is the $0.1127254 close of 6 January 2026, the top of a 39.62% climb from $0.0807380 on 31 December 2025. It's the latest advance above H1's level that rivals H1's own climb. Its rise is 172.8% of the 22.92% gain behind H1, the $0.0655186 close of 11 May 2026. IOTA has no cycle multiple either, because its record close came in the 2017 listing year and its 2021 high close of $2.5322 reached only 47.19% of it.

Neither network upgrade broke the series. IOTA closed at $0.1520895 on 3 October 2023 and $0.1543831 on 4 October 2023, the day the Stardust upgrade began at about 08:00 CEST. Across Rebased the closes ran from $0.2076994 on 4 May 2025 to $0.2034711 on 5 May, and in both cases the change landed on supply.

The lows belong to 2026. IOTA printed its all-time intraday low of $0.0311043 at 14:11 UTC on 31 July 2026. Its lowest close came on 16 August 2026 at $0.0318149, and that close is L2 in the ladder below.

IOTA Technical Analysis

Every reading below uses CoinMarketCap daily closes through 3 October 2026, with Wilder's 14-day RSI and the standard 12-26-9 MACD.

Support

The first floor is the 29 September close of $0.0522667, then the $0.0490178 close of 22 September. Below those come the 200-day average at $0.0472896 and the 50-day at $0.0433896. Under both averages wait the $0.0387061 close of 15 September and L2, the $0.0318149 close of 16 August 2026.

Resistance

The nearest ceiling is the 1 October close of $0.0548372, then the 28 September close of $0.0558207, the high close of the climb from L2. Past those come the $0.0575051 close of 1 June and the $0.0617117 close of 8 May. H1 at $0.0655186 is 20.54% above the anchor. Beyond it lie the $0.0715881 intraday high of 30 May, the top of H1's own cycle, and H0 at $0.1127254.

Moving Averages

The 50-day average closed the 3 October bar at $0.0433896 and the 200-day at $0.0472896. That puts the anchor 25.27% above the 50-day and 14.94% above the 200-day, with the 50-day itself 8.25% below the 200-day. Phemex Academy's primer on how to trade crypto with moving averages covers how traders build and read them.

The 21 September close was IOTA's first above the 200-day since 6 October 2025, ending a run of 349 closes at or below it. IOTA slipped under again on 23 September and then closed above it on all 10 days from 24 September to 3 October. The trend signal hasn't flipped, since the death cross of 1 October 2025 holds until the 50-day climbs back over the 200-day.

Our explainer on the golden cross and death cross in Bitcoin trading shows how traders read each signal.

RSI and MACD

The 14-day RSI read 64.62 at the 3 October close, down from 73.39 on 28 September, its last reading above 70.

MACD gives a cooler read. The line stood at 0.0034725 against a signal of 0.0030965, a histogram of +0.0003760 that shrank on each of the five days after 0.0008945 on 28 September. MACD crossed above its signal line on 18 September and stayed above zero from 21 August through 3 October, so momentum is positive and fading.

IOTA Price Prediction 2026

With 89 daily closes left in 2026 after 3 October, our IOTA price prediction for 2026 runs from the averages and the closes nearest the anchor, all on CoinMarketCap.

Scenario

Bear

Base
$0.0434-$0.0544
The 50-day to the 3 Oct 2026 anchor. The 200-day, $0.0473, sits inside it (CMC)
Closes hold between the 50-day and the anchor while about 1.65M new IOTA a day reach circulation
Bull
$0.0544-$0.1127
The anchor to H0, the 6 Jan 2026 close (CMC)
A market value near $526.9M at the 3 Oct supply, 2.07 times the anchor's $254.1M

Our lean is the base case. Ten straight closes above the 200-day make a test, and we'd want the 50-day back over the 200-day before calling it a trend. A daily close under $0.0490178, the 22 September close and the last floor above the 200-day, would be the first sign of the bear case. The 2026 bull case stops at H0 because no 2026 range may climb past the ladder's own top, even though IOTA closed at $0.1924844 on 6 October 2025.

IOTA Price Prediction 2027 to 2030

Moving averages say little about 2028, so an IOTA crypto price prediction for 2027 to 2030 has to rest on levels IOTA has printed on CoinMarketCap.

Year

2029 and 2030
$0.0318-$0.0544
$0.0655-$0.1127
$0.1127-$0.1263

Supply sets the calendar for these years. Phemex's guide on why token inflation kills altcoin prices runs the arithmetic for a token whose count keeps growing.

2027

The bear range runs from L2, the 16 August 2026 close, to the 3 October 2026 anchor. The base runs from the anchor to H1, the 11 May 2026 close, a climb of 20.54%. The bull runs from H1 to H0, the 6 January 2026 close, because the 2017 all-time high is 98.7 times the anchor and H0 stands in for it. It's also the last year with foundation releases, on that same derived count.

2028

The bear range falls from L2 to the 200-day average of 3 October 2026, $0.0473. The base runs from that 200-day to H0. The bull runs from H0's $0.1127 close to $0.1263174, the intraday high of H0's own cycle on CoinMarketCap at 17:26 UTC on 8 January 2026, because IOTA has no cycle multiple. On the derived schedule, 2028 is the first forecast year with no foundation release left.

2029 and 2030

Nothing in a daily price series separates 2029 from 2030, so both years share one set of ranges. The IOTA price prediction for 2030 puts the bear case between L2 and the 3 October 2026 anchor. The base runs from H1 to H0, and the bull repeats 2028's $0.1127 to $0.1263. At 279,955,000 IOTA a year, the mint alone would add 5.60% of the 4,996,456,292 total supply CoinGecko showed at 14:30 UTC on 4 October 2026.

What Could Drive IOTA Higher or Lower?

The release clock: IOTA's Stardust tokenomics plan of 15 September 2023 gave the Tangle Ecosystem Association and the IOTA DLT Foundation 552,000,000 IOTA each and the IOTA Foundation 325,469,717. Each unlocked 10% at once and receives the rest in bi-weekly releases over four years, which by our arithmetic works out to 12,370,411 IOTA every 14 days. CoinMarketCap's count jumped 13,137,395 on 2 September, 13,137,392 on 16 September and 13,137,299 on 30 September 2026, each a release plus that day's mint.

The mint clock: The docs set the mint at 767,000 IOTA per epoch, and on every day between releases from 31 August to 3 October 2026 CoinMarketCap's count rose between 766,801 and 766,995 IOTA. IOTA's delegated proof of stake page calls that mint a validator subsidy, paid out with transaction tips as each epoch's stake rewards. Add the two clocks over a year and you get 601,585,686 IOTA from 26 releases and 365 epochs. CoinMarketCap's count rose 601,520,209 from 3 October 2025 to 3 October 2026, within 0.011% of that sum.

The end of the releases: At 14:30 UTC on 4 October 2026, CoinGecko showed 4,996,456,292 IOTA of total supply and 4,674,825,606 in circulation. The gap of 321,630,686 IOTA equals exactly 26 releases of 12,370,411. Spaced 14 days apart from 30 September 2026, the next lands around 14 October 2026 and the last around 29 September 2027, both dates derived from the cadence. New supply then falls to the mint's 279,955,000 IOTA a year, 46.54% of what the count added in the year to 3 October 2026.

Network and projects: IOTA's Q2 2026 progress update of 1 July says the Starfish consensus protocol went live on mainnet on 23 April 2026. IOTA's homepage, read at 14:30 UTC on 4 October 2026, lists TWIN for cross-border trade data and Salus for tokenized trade finance among its projects. Phemex Academy's piece on tokenized real-world assets as a blockchain use case covers the market those projects chase.

Staking: A validator candidate needs at least 2M IOTA of stake to ask for a place in the active set, per IOTA's validators and staking pools page. Each epoch's mint flows to stakers, so unstaked IOTA loses share to it every day. Our explainer on who blockchain validators are and how they validate transactions covers what those operators do.

What Are the Risks of Investing in IOTA?

The plainest risk runs on a schedule. If you held 1% of CoinMarketCap's IOTA count on 3 October 2025, you held about 0.871% a year later without selling a token. With the market value held flat, that dilution alone took 12.87% off the price. Each release lands with three organisations that fund IOTA's ecosystem. Neither the Stardust tokenomics post nor the token docs say how much of their IOTA those bodies sell or stake, so a holder can't size the selling that 12,370,411 IOTA every 14 days might bring.

Tickers cause mistakes. IOTA Classic was the fork that kept the old supply at the Stardust upgrade, and a Bittensor subnet token listed as iota (SN9) has no tie to the IOTA network. Check the project name and network before you buy anything labelled IOTA.

Is IOTA a Good Investment?

By our arithmetic, IOTA's market value has to grow about 12.8% between the 3 October 2026 close and the last derived release around 29 September 2027 for the price to stay flat. An IOTA coin position built on the late-September breakout has a clear line in the $0.0473 200-day, and a close under the $0.0434 50-day would say the breakout failed. If you want a reason to hold for years, wait for the releases to run out and for fee burns big enough to dent a mint that CoinMarketCap's count shows arriving almost in full every day.

How to Trade IOTA on Phemex

Phemex lists no IOTA market. At 14:37 UTC on 4 October 2026, its public product list carried no IOTA spot pair and no IOTA perpetual, so you can't get direct IOTA crypto exposure here. None of Phemex's futures contracts tracks IOTA, and the futures link below opens other markets.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the IOTA price prediction for 2026?

Our base case is $0.0434 to $0.0544, with a bear case of $0.0318 to $0.0434 and a bull case of $0.0544 to $0.1127. To finish 2026 flat on the year, IOTA has to climb 48.54% from the anchor back to its $0.0807380 close of 31 December 2025, a level only the bull range reaches.

What is the IOTA price prediction for 2030?

The 2030 ranges are $0.0318 to $0.0544 for the bear case, $0.0655 to $0.1127 for the base and $0.1127 to $0.1263 for the bull. Between 4 October 2026 and the end of 2030 the mint and the 26 remaining releases add about 1.51 billion IOTA by our arithmetic, before any fee burn.

Is IOTA bullish or bearish?

On the 50-day and 200-day test IOTA is bearish, because the death cross of 1 October 2025 still stood at the 3 October 2026 close. The golden cross before it, on 18 August 2025, lasted only 44 days.

What is IOTA's key support?

The 200-day average at $0.0473 matters most, since IOTA's last close below it came on 23 September at $0.0463201, against a 200-day of $0.0478757 that day.

Can IOTA reach its all-time high again?

The $5.3663 close of 19 December 2017 would value IOTA at about $25.08 billion at CoinMarketCap's 3 October count, against $14.92 billion when it printed. IOTA hasn't closed above $1 since 9 February 2022.

Bottom Line

IOTA's chart broke above its 200-day on 21 September, but the date that shapes its long-range ceiling is 29 September 2027, when the last foundation release lands by our count. Until then every 14 days brings about $672,404 of newly released IOTA at the anchor price, on top of $41,691 of minted IOTA a day, and a bull range above $0.0544 has to absorb all of it.
