Axis Robotics (AXIS) is the Base token of a robot-training data network, also called Axis AI, and AXIS rose 21.76% from its first daily close to the late-October 2026 close as most crypto fell. Its contributors steer simulated robot arms in a browser, and the project sets aside 10% of the supply to reward them through an airdrop.
AXIS closed its launch day at $0.2696 on CoinMarketCap and two days later closed at $0.3283, 3.28 times the $0.10 price of its September 2026 community sale. Over those two days Bitcoin's Phemex perpetual fell 3.45%, and 124 of the 137 USDT- and USDC-margined perpetual markets on Phemex closed lower. The second of those daily gains arrived in the day's final hour.

What Is Axis Robotics (AXIS)?
Axis Robotics builds training data for physical AI, the models that let robot arms and other machines act in the real world. Its docs describe two sources of that data, simulation that runs in a browser and first-person video that people record on their phones.
That puts Axis Robotics crypto close to the networks Phemex Academy covers in what DePIN is and how it works, with contributors in the place of machines.
The name causes mix-ups, since Axis DeFi and Axis USD are unrelated projects, so match the Base contract in the tokenomics section. The docs credit a team of AI and robotics researchers from four universities, with Berkeley and CMU among them.
Why Is Axis Robotics Trending?
AXIS climbed while the market around it fell. Measured from the launch-day close, the gain came to 21.76% on CoinMarketCap, and CoinGecko and the main Base pool both put it within two points of that. AI-linked tokens on Phemex went the other way. Over the same two closes TAO's Phemex perpetual fell 6.08%, and the RENDER and NEAR perpetuals each lost more than 9%.
The second gain came late. In the main pool AXIS spent most of that day under the previous close, touching a low 15.92% below it, and it went into the final hour 5.76% under it. That last hour lifted the pool price 17.80%, from $0.2751 to $0.3241, and it set the day's close.
That close was AXIS's highest daily close from launch to the late-October close, out of only three.
CoinMarketCap counted $224.7 million of AXIS trading on that last full day, and the main pool handled $13.14 million of it, about 5.85%. Roughly 94% of the reported volume traded elsewhere, and the pool itself held about $2.46 million of liquidity in late October 2026.
The launch itself is the backdrop. AXIS began trading on Base in late October 2026, and the contributor airdrop scheduled half of its first season to unlock at the TGE.
Method: the move compares CoinMarketCap's daily closes with CoinGecko's daily points and GeckoTerminal's day and hour bars for the main pool. The control is the same two closes on Phemex's perpetual markets, and the launch-day open is never a base because it was the first print.
How Does Axis Robotics Work?
Contributors work in two stages of a task's life. In pre-training a contributor steers a simulated robot arm to pick up a mug or open a drawer, and the session saves a trajectory, a timestamped record of the arm's motion. In post-training the trained policy tries the task alone, and the contributor takes over only when it slips. The docs call those corrections the highest-value data in robot learning.
Each signed trajectory gets a Data ID that Base records with the task and the contributor, and the platform replays every trajectory in simulation to check it. The project's docs count more than 229,000 contributors and 7.3 million trajectories as of 10 October 2026, along with 7.0 million on-chain records. Contributors earn Axis Points for accepted work, and the docs say points may count as one input for airdrop eligibility.
The method has a July 2026 arXiv paper behind it, which describes a dataset of "207 diverse tasks and 50K+ trajectories". It reports that continual pretraining on that data "substantially improves the overall success rate of π0.5 by 5.8%", where π0.5 is a robot-control model. That curated set is tiny next to the docs' count, so the paper tests the method on a slice of the network's output.
AXIS Tokenomics
AXIS's contract caps supply at 1 billion tokens, and the full billion was minted when it was deployed in August 2026. Changing that cap would need an upgrade that must wait at least 48 hours in a public timelock.
The token's contract on Base is 0x5bE75e3b0aFf5D1A042A5363Ae36AcB1d6d755ea, named Axis Token with 18 decimals, and Sourcify holds its verified source code. Minting needs a proposal from a project multisig that takes three of five signers. The cap counts tokens in existence, so burned AXIS would free room to mint again.
The project's tokenomics page in its docs splits the billion like this.

The Axis Robotics TGE, the token generation event that opened trading, came in late October 2026 and put 165 million AXIS (16.5% of supply) into circulation. Per the docs, no core-team or private-round tokens unlocked then.
The other 835 million AXIS sat in one vesting contract at the late-October close, and none had been withdrawn. Its 35 monthly releases run from November 2026 to September 2029, and they match the docs' schedule to the token.
The first release of about 20.09 million AXIS, all from the ecosystem pool, is due in November 2026. The monthly step climbs to about 25.03 million in October 2027, when core-team and private-round tokens start 24 months of releases after a 12-month wait of the kind explained in how cliff vesting works.
Who Controls the Vesting Contract?
A multisig that needs four of its six signers owns the vesting contract, and it can withdraw the whole balance to any address at any time. A simulated withdrawal of all 835 million AXIS from that multisig at the last block before the late-October close went through, and the same call from the 3-of-5 treasury multisig that receives the releases or from an outside address failed.
The same owner can rewrite the release table or upgrade the contract with no timelock. So the schedule above is a plan its signers keep, and the code doesn't hold them to it.
Together with the project's treasury multisig and a second multisig funded from it, the vesting contract held 91.63% of all AXIS at that block. That leaves a thin float, the dilution risk set out in circulating supply vs total supply.
Method: the balances and owner checks come from contract calls at the last Base block before the late-October close. The full withdrawal and a mint of the smallest unit of AXIS were simulated at that block, and the mint failed on the 1 billion cap.
How to Buy Axis Robotics (AXIS) Safely
AXIS has no perpetual or spot pair on Phemex, so these checks apply to any swap on Base.
-
Match the Base contract 0x5bE75e3b0aFf5D1A042A5363Ae36AcB1d6d755ea before you swap, and confirm that it reads Axis Token with 18 decimals.
-
Use the main AXIS/USDC pool on Uniswap v4, the 0.01% fee tier opened in mid-October 2026, which held about 92% of the liquidity GeckoTerminal listed for the token in late October 2026.
-
Skip the junk pools, since GeckoTerminal listed 141 AXIS pools on Base in late October 2026 and 130 of them held under $100. Nine charge swap fees from 55% to 89.3%, enough to eat most of a trade.
-
Keep the tokens in a wallet you control, and send a small test amount before any large transfer.
Phemex's futures markets use leverage, and a leveraged position is closed automatically if losses reach its margin.
What Are the Risks of Axis Robotics?
Four Signers Can Move 83.5% of Supply
Holders depend on the vesting multisig's restraint. If its signers move the vault's balance, the release table stops describing anything, and holders would see it only on chain.
Releases Begin in November 2026
The November and December 2026 releases add about 20.09 million AXIS each, roughly 12% of the 165 million that circulated at launch. Each release hands its recipients supply they can sell, the pressure set out in crypto vesting and cliffs, and the monthly amount grows in October 2027.
The Usage Numbers Are Self-Reported
The 229,000 contributors and 7.3 million trajectories come from the project's docs, and the docs pages that give them cite no outside audit. The on-chain records show signed submissions and leave the number of distinct people behind them open.
Is Axis Robotics Legit?
Axis Robotics is a legitimate, funded project with public research and a token contract whose code is verified on Sourcify.
Hack VC led its $12 million seed round, which the project announced on its blog on 27 July 2026, with three other funds and angel investors joining.
Its docs publish the same Base contract that trades in the main pool. For a holder, the open question is custody, and the vesting section above answers it.
Is Axis Robotics a Good Investment?
AXIS is a high-risk holding, priced far ahead of the revenue target in the project's own roadmap.
What the dated data shows: the 165 million AXIS in circulation at launch were worth about $54.17 million at the late-October close, and the full billion about $328.3 million. The roadmap targets $1 million of annual recurring revenue by the end of 2026, so the fully diluted value stood at about 328 times that goal.
What would have to be true: paid data contracts would need to grow many times past that target. The vesting multisig would also need to release tokens on the published schedule.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Axis Robotics?
Axis Robotics is a crowdsourced network that collects robot-training data from people who steer simulated robot arms in a browser or film tasks on their phones. Its AXIS token is an ERC-20 on Base.
How many AXIS tokens are there?
The contract caps AXIS at 1 billion tokens, and every one was minted at deployment in August 2026. About 165 million circulated after the launch in late October 2026, and the other 835 million sat in a vesting contract at the late-October close.
Is there an Axis Robotics airdrop?
Yes. The docs reserve 100 million AXIS for a Community Contributor Airdrop in two seasons. Season one's 40 million release half at launch and a quarter each in January and April 2027.
When was the Axis Robotics TGE?
The token generation event came in late October 2026, when AXIS started trading on Base and the vesting contract's clock began.
Is the Axis Robotics token on Phemex?
Phemex lists no AXIS perpetual or spot pair. On chain, AXIS trades in pools on Base, where the contract in the buying steps above is the one to match.
Bottom Line
AXIS's price rests on two full days of trading, and its supply rests on four signatures. The 835 million tokens that one multisig can move come to more than five times everything that circulated at launch, so its signers will count for more than any single day's close.
