The Seoul Southern District Court acquitted cryptocurrency figure "Jonber Kim" (surname Park) on October 15 in a fraud case involving approximately 340 billion won ($230 million). The court ruled that prosecutors failed to prove a causal link between alleged false advertising for POD (Grape Coin) and ATT (Atube) projects and investor losses, while also finding insufficient evidence for price manipulation and misappropriation charges.
Two co-defendants received suspended prison sentences for submitting false materials during a Coinone listing renewal review and obstructing the exchange's review process. One defendant was sentenced to four months in prison with one year of probation, while the other received six months with two years of probation.
