SoftBank has announced a €45 billion investment to construct AI data centers in northern France, marking Europe's largest AI infrastructure project to date. The initiative will establish 3.1 gigawatts of data center capacity across multiple sites in the Hauts-de-France region, with initial operations expected by 2028 and full completion by 2031. This investment is part of a broader €75 billion commitment to expand capacity to 5 gigawatts.
