Fraudsters are allegedly using WhatsApp groups to impersonate the president of Citadel Securities in an effort to pitch cryptocurrency trading opportunities. The scheme targets individuals by falsely representing the executive's identity to promote crypto investments. Neither the Citadel Securities president nor the firm has any involvement with these WhatsApp groups or the associated trading pitches. The impersonation appears to be an unauthorized attempt to leverage the executive's reputation to solicit participation in crypto trading activities.
