SBI Holdings has signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation with CRB Group, the parent company of Cross River Bank, to establish a joint venture in Japan focused on tokenized real-world asset (RWA) products. The partnership will explore applications including loan receivables, cross-border payments, and payment infrastructure for AI agent transactions. As part of the agreement, SBI plans to make a strategic investment in CRB Group. The two parties also intend to explore connecting the Japanese yen stablecoin JPYSC to Cross River's platform for institutional cross-border and tokenized asset settlement. The formation of the joint venture remains subject to definitive agreements and necessary regulatory approvals.
