PayPal raised its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to approximately $5.60, up from the $5.38 projected in July. The fintech giant reported third-quarter adjusted EPS of $1.45, surpassing the analyst consensus of $1.31. Transaction margin dollars reached $3.95 billion, exceeding expectations of $3.89 billion, while total payment volume grew 6.3% year-over-year to $487.1 billion. However, revenue came in at $8.58 billion, falling short of forecasts.
CEO Enrique Lores stated that the company's strategic initiatives are now reflected in its financial performance. The earnings update follows the collapse of a potential acquisition in August, when a consortium led by private equity firm Advent and payment processor Stripe abandoned its bid for PayPal after offering more than $50 billion. PayPal's current market capitalization stands at $47 billion.
