Argentine President Javier Milei’s social media influence has weakened sharply, with mentions across social media platforms and websites falling to about 3.7 million in June, down 72% from a peak of 12.6 million in February 2025, according to Bloomberg, citing data from communications agency Ad Hoc. Interactions with Milei’s posts on X have also declined 62% since he took office.
The report said several digital allies tied to Milei’s team have resigned or been arrested on suspicion of serious legal violations or corruption, while divisions have surfaced within his online support base. It added that an economic slowdown, legislative setbacks, and multiple scandals have undercut his anti-establishment narrative, increasing uncertainty around his reelection prospects.
