Lombard has launched the Bitcoin Agent SDK, a toolset enabling AI agents to manage Bitcoin operations such as holding, staking, earning yield, and borrowing. The SDK is designed for developers using platforms like Vercel AI SDK, LangChain, Coinbase AgentKit, and MCP, offering functionalities like balance inquiries and staking BTC.b for LBTC. It supports EIP-1193 wallets, including MetaMask and WalletConnect. The SDK aims to address the underutilization of Bitcoin in AI-driven on-chain activities, which currently account for 19% of such activities. Despite the dominance of stablecoins, Bitcoin's integration is expected to grow, with major financial institutions like JPMorgan and BlackRock already incorporating Bitcoin into their portfolios. The SDK is built on Bitcoin Connect, which has processed over $5 billion in Bitcoin transactions across multiple blockchains.
