Five men have been sentenced in Hertfordshire, UK, for their involvement in a "wrench attack" where a 36-year-old victim was coerced into unlocking his cryptocurrency and bank accounts using facial recognition. The attackers stole approximately $13,000. The incident occurred after the victim was taken home from a night out in London. Coinbase alerted authorities after detecting unusual activity in the victim's account. Four men received prison sentences ranging from 3 years and 6 months to 6 years and 6 months for conspiracy to rob, kidnap, and false imprisonment. Another individual received a community order and was ordered to pay compensation for money laundering.
