A draft proposal would enable Ethereum wallets to permanently block EIP-7702 delegation, allowing account holders to opt out of the feature that lets externally owned accounts temporarily act as smart contracts. Accounts opting out would retain their existing addresses and continue processing ordinary transactions without interruption. The proposed opt-out mechanism is designed to give users greater control over their account behavior under EIP-7702, which introduced code delegation capabilities to standard EOAs. However, the proposal explicitly notes that blocking delegation would not protect funds from a stolen private key.
