Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg has dismissed claims that the company has excess computing power, emphasizing the high demand for resources to develop and run AI. In a recent interview, Zuckerberg highlighted the potential commercial benefits of leasing AI infrastructure to external clients, given the current high market demand for computing power. He noted that renting out resources could be more beneficial than retaining them solely for internal use. Zuckerberg also confirmed Meta's plans to launch a cloud computing business, aiming to generate revenue through its data centers and partnerships. He clarified that this move does not indicate an overcapacity of computing resources, stating that Meta is fully utilizing its current infrastructure. "I don’t know anyone in the industry who feels they have too much compute," Zuckerberg remarked, underscoring the ongoing demand for computing power in the tech sector.
