Zimbabwe has immediately banned exports of antimony and tungsten as part of a government push to require more local processing of raw materials. Transport of ores and concentrates has also been suspended, according to a July 21 letter from Mining Minister Thomas Ush to the state-owned Zimbabwe Minerals Marketing Company, confirmed by the Ministry of Mines. The move follows Zimbabwe’s February suspension of lithium concentrate exports to promote local processing and curb illegal shipments. That restriction was eased in April, with the ban currently set to take effect in early 2027.
