Zhipu confirmed that Ox Alpha, recently launched anonymously, is the next-generation model in its GLM series and said it plans to release the model weights tonight. The announcement was reported on August 26, citing Bloomberg. Ox Alpha has risen to the top of OpenRouter’s usage rankings, with call volume reported at more than twice that of DeepSeek. The model is built for programming and agent tasks, supports text, image and video inputs, and is free to use for one week. Pricing after the trial period has not yet been announced.
