Zcash developer Sean Bowe has submitted a proposal to set the NU7 mainnet upgrade activation height at block 3,543,405, expected to take effect on November 5. The proposed height has been approved by the ZIP editors' meeting but has not yet been merged into the upgrade specification or node software.
The NU7 upgrade plans to reduce the target block interval from 75 seconds to 25 seconds and temporarily remove 60% of transaction fees from circulation. The upgrade will also disable v4 transactions, rendering funds remaining in the Sprout shielded pool unspendable and requiring affected holders to migrate in advance.
