On-chain investigator ZachXBT has criticized Circle for its lack of response during the Drift hack, where millions of USDC were reportedly transferred from Solana to Ethereum using Circle's cross-chain protocol (CCTP). The incident occurred during U.S. trading hours, yet Circle allegedly took no action to intervene. This criticism follows Circle's recent decision to freeze at least 16 corporate hot wallets, which are still in the process of being unfrozen. ZachXBT labeled Circle as a "bad actor" in the industry.
