Yuval Rooz, co-founder and CEO of Digital Asset, emphasized the importance of addressing settlement finality and privacy concerns to achieve on-chain capital markets. Rooz highlighted that Canton's partnerships with major financial institutions like JPMorgan and HSBC demonstrate its integration efforts, despite criticisms often stemming from misconceptions about its operational model. Canton's unique features, such as atomic composition of smart contracts with privacy and a UTXO model to prevent double spending, set it apart from other blockchains. Rooz clarified that super validators in Canton act as a decentralized ordering service, coordinating and timestamping transactions without validating business logic, which is crucial for understanding Canton's transaction processing.
