XRP has significantly outperformed major cryptocurrencies, achieving an 89% gain over the past year, surpassing Bitcoin's (BTC) 3.6% and the CoinDesk 20 Index's 3.6% rise. This performance is largely attributed to the resolution of the SEC lawsuit against Ripple, the introduction of the XRPL EVM sidechain, the RLUSD stablecoin, and increased institutional interest, highlighted by the launch of a U.S. spot XRP ETF. Despite its impressive gains, XRP remains highly volatile, with a 365-day annualized volatility of 91%. In contrast, other cryptocurrencies like Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA) have seen declines of over 36% during the same period, while the CoinDesk 5 Index was the only other positive performer, rising by more than 2%.
