Luo Fuli, head of Xiaomi's large model team, forecasts that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) could be realized within two years. She highlighted that Chinese companies, including Kimi and MiMo, have developed foundation models exceeding 1 trillion parameters, effectively closing the gap with U.S. models in the pre-training phase. Luo emphasized the importance of the next few months as a critical period for testing research capabilities and technical agility. Luo noted that the performance gap between domestic models and leading international models like Claude Opus 4.6 is narrowing, with only a two to three-month difference. She estimates that current AGI progress is at 20%, with potential to reach 60% to 70% by the end of the year. The rise of open-source Agent frameworks, such as OpenClaw, is accelerating research and development by fostering collective intelligence and enabling rapid iteration.
