xAI's large model Grok is currently in gray testing for a new user memory feature, as monitored by Beating. This feature automatically records key personal information from user conversations to create structured user profiles. Users can view and edit these profiles, which provide continuous contextual background for future interactions, enhancing conversational fluency. Leaked screenshots reveal that Grok's user profiles include details such as social media accounts, hardware specifications, daily occupations, and subscription tiers. It also identifies user roles like Discord community moderators and GitHub project contributors. Grok's profiling mechanism is similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT Memory feature but offers more specific categorization. xAI has not yet announced an official launch date or rollout scope for this feature.
