Elon Musk's xAI chatbot, Grok, has seen minimal adoption within the U.S. government, appearing in only three out of over 400 federal AI use cases reviewed by Reuters. In contrast, OpenAI's tools, including ChatGPT, were used in 234 instances, highlighting Grok's struggle to gain traction despite aggressive pricing strategies. Grok was made available to federal agencies at a significantly reduced rate of $0.42 per organization, yet it failed to attract widespread use, being employed mainly for basic tasks like document drafting and social media management. This limited adoption poses challenges for xAI, especially after its $250 billion acquisition by SpaceX, as it seeks to establish Grok in competitive enterprise and government markets.
