Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales has expressed his views on Bitcoin, stating that while the cryptocurrency is unlikely to drop to zero due to its robust design, it is not expected to succeed as a currency or store of value. Wales suggested that unless unforeseen cryptographic failures or a 51% attack occur, Bitcoin will persist, potentially through forks. However, he predicts that by 2050, Bitcoin's price will fall below $10,000 in today's value, possibly much lower, relegating it to a hobbyist level. Wales emphasized that Bitcoin is fundamentally a speculative asset rather than a successful currency, and noted that AI robots have not yet widely adopted cryptocurrencies.
