White House Chief Cryptocurrency Advisor Patrick Witt will take a leave of absence later this month to undergo JAG program training with the Georgia Army National Guard. Originally scheduled for April, Witt's training was delayed due to extended negotiations over the Clarity Act, which cannot be postponed again. Since assuming his role in August last year, Witt has led negotiations on key issues of the Clarity Act, including compromises between the crypto industry and banks on stablecoin yields, ethical clause disputes, and securing law enforcement support. Witt's departure comes at a critical time as Senate Republicans push to advance the Clarity Act before the August recess. His deputy, Harry Jung, will assume his responsibilities. Witt has also been instrumental in implementing strategic Bitcoin reserves and advancing the GENIUS Act.
