Webus International Limited has unveiled plans to launch a tokenized travel reward exchange platform utilizing XRP stablecoin settlement for cross-border reward transfers. The initiative aims to tackle the $20 billion global loyalty market's fragmentation by facilitating interoperability among travel and hospitality reward programs. Initial pilot programs will be conducted in North America and Asia, with broader rollouts contingent on compliance. The platform, which will not require users to own XRP, will use XRP-linked stablecoins for settlements. This approach is expected to enhance liquidity and transparency within the loyalty industry, offering a real-world application of blockchain technology, as noted by attorney Bill Morgan.
