Wayru Network has announced it will cease operations by December 30, 2025, following difficulties in securing necessary funding and scaling its decentralized WiFi initiative. The company plans to open-source its technology and repurpose existing hardware to minimize electronic waste. Some of the equipment will be redirected to support altcoin projects within the DePIN sector, highlighting the persistent challenges faced by hardware-based initiatives in the crypto space.
