Walrus, a decentralized storage protocol on the Sui blockchain, has launched the MemWal SDK, a toolkit enabling AI agents to utilize persistent, encrypted memory. This SDK allows agents to store and retrieve information intelligently using semantic search, enhancing memory retrieval beyond simple keyword matches. The framework ensures memory is open and verifiable, independent of any single AI provider's infrastructure. The MemWal SDK integrates with Vercel AI SDK and offers plugins for OpenClaw and NemoClaw frameworks. It emphasizes user ownership of memory, with the Sui blockchain managing access control. This ensures that users, not corporations, dictate memory access. The SDK, currently in beta, highlights four pillars: verifiability, availability, portability, and shareability, aiming to make AI memory user-owned and resilient across platforms.
