Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced that Ethereum nodes can now complete syncing within half a day, with aggressive configurations reducing disk usage to under 0.5TB. These improvements stem from EIP-4444 implementation and ongoing Snap Sync optimizations by client teams, with the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade set to further enhance sync efficiency. Buterin noted that while users can point wallet RPCs to local nodes, proper configuration is required and some browser DApps may not support local RPC connections effectively. He expressed a growing preference for command-line operations over browser DApps, having recently updated an ENS record via a Python script connected to a local node. Development is also underway on kohaku-cli, which will integrate privacy protocols.
