Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has cautioned against the use of artificial intelligence in crypto governance, citing potential security vulnerabilities. In a recent post, Buterin highlighted the risk of malicious actors exploiting AI systems, such as using jailbreaks to manipulate funding allocations. He referenced a recent exploit in OpenAI's ChatGPT, which demonstrated how AI could be tricked into leaking private information. Buterin proposed an alternative governance model called the "info finance approach," which involves an open market for model contributions subject to human evaluation. This method aims to provide model diversity and incentivize external monitoring to quickly address issues. The warning comes amid growing interest in AI for managing crypto protocols, despite concerns over security risks highlighted by recent updates to AI tools like ChatGPT.
