Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has highlighted three applications that embody the decentralized ethos he envisioned for Ethereum. In recent social media posts, Buterin emphasized the progress of decentralized applications since 2014, noting that tools like Fileverse, Status, and Railway Wallet are now practical and user-friendly. Fileverse, a decentralized alternative to Google Workspace, allows document collaboration while ensuring data retrieval and editing through open-source interfaces. Status offers a self-custody crypto wallet with encrypted messaging, and Railway Wallet serves as a private DeFi wallet. Buterin asserts that these developments signal the strengthening of the decentralized web3 vision, contrasting them with increasingly complex and invasive consumer technologies.
