Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has revisited his 2014 vision for an "alternative network," highlighting Ethereum's transition to Proof of Stake (PoS) and ongoing scalability efforts. In a recent post, Buterin emphasized the role of ZK-EVM and PeerDAS in advancing the network's sharding goals. He cited the decentralized collaboration tool Fileverse as an example of applications that should pass the "walkaway test," ensuring users can retrieve and continue editing their data even if a project ceases operations. Buterin urged the community to accelerate the development of truly decentralized applications by 2026.
