Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has proposed new measures to combat centralization in Ethereum's block building process. In a recent blog post, Buterin outlined his FOCIL proposal, which aims to serve as an anti-censorship fallback by allowing randomly selected participants to decide on mandatory transactions for inclusion in a block. This proposal comes ahead of the "Glamsterdam" upgrade, which will introduce proposer-builder separation. Buterin also suggests encrypting transactions until finality to mitigate "toxic MEV" and prevent front-running or sandwich attacks.
