Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has unveiled a new quick confirmation rule mechanism for Ethereum transactions. This mechanism allows users to receive a non-revert guarantee for their transactions after just one slot, or 12 seconds. Buterin highlighted that the security of this rule relies on two key assumptions: the majority of validators are honest nodes, and network latency is below approximately 3 seconds. While its security is slightly lower than economic finality, it offers strong reliability for many applications.
