Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, disclosed that he earned $70,000 last year on the prediction market platform Polymarket, starting with a principal of approximately $440,000. Buterin attributed his success to a strategy he calls the "anti-crazy mode," which involves identifying markets caught in irrational frenzy and betting against the occurrence of "crazy things." He cited examples such as betting against predictions like "Trump winning the Nobel Peace Prize" or "the dollar going to zero next year" during periods of extreme market sentiment. Buterin believes that when market emotions reach such irrational states, contrarian bets can often be profitable.
