Buterin warns that as AI becomes more powerful, it poses irreversible anti-human risks, which even developers might regret. He emphasizes that Ethereum's goal is to liberate humanity, not to create independent AI that leaves human conditions unchanged or worsened. Buterin also pointed out that current AI models operated by OpenAI and Anthropic are not truly autonomous and perpetuate centralized trust assumptions, which contradicts Ethereum's ethos. He stresses that while exponential growth is inevitable, the priority should be choosing the right direction to avoid negative attractors, rather than accelerating development.
