Visa has emerged as the leading issuer of cryptocurrency cards, achieving a monthly transaction volume of $365 million, according to an analysis by @obchakevich_ on the X platform. The study evaluated 13 representative crypto card projects, revealing that Visa accounted for 10 of these, while Mastercard had only 3. Key contributors to Visa's transaction volume include Rain Card, RedotPay, and Etherfi Cash, which collectively generated $320 million. The preference for Visa among crypto card projects is attributed to its ease of issuance, lower operating costs, and reduced compliance risks compared to Mastercard. Despite Mastercard's reliability, its stringent verification processes and higher fees deter many projects from choosing it. Visa's dominance is further bolstered by its significant presence in the market, particularly through partnerships with major players like Rain.
