Visa has initiated a pilot program in the United States to facilitate payments using USD stablecoins, such as USDC, through fiat currency accounts. This service, implemented via the Visa Direct digital payments network, aims to enhance fund flow efficiency for sectors requiring rapid transactions, including international businesses and freelancers. Visa President Chris Newkirk highlighted the goal of enabling global fund circulation "within minutes." The company plans to expand this service further in 2026, responding to research indicating that 57% of freelancers prefer digital payments for quicker fund access.
