Visa has joined Tempo as a validator, marking a significant expansion of its role in blockchain transaction infrastructure. This move follows six months of integration with Tempo's Layer-1 network and positions Visa among the first external validators, alongside Stripe and Zodia Custody. Visa's internal teams have configured and are operating the validator node, allowing the company to participate in transaction validation on Tempo. Cuy Sheffield, Head of Crypto at Visa, highlighted that this development extends Visa's operational standards into blockchain systems, emphasizing reliability, security, and trust. Visa's involvement in Tempo aligns with its broader blockchain initiatives, including its role as a Super Validator on the Canton Network and providing stablecoin-related advisory services. Tempo plans to expand its validator set, with more participants expected to join in the future.
