The round was co-led by Story Foundation, NEXPACE, Neowiz, MARBLEX, Solarium Labs, and NEXUS, with participation from various gaming, media, and tech investors. The funds will enhance Verse8's AI system, expand creator programs, and scale its distribution infrastructure. Since its launch in July 2024, Verse8 has attracted over 3.5 million monthly active users and facilitated the creation of 25,000 games by 5,000 active creators. The platform allows users to generate multiplayer games using natural language prompts, eliminating the need for coding or large production teams. Co-founders JC Kim and Kevin Lee, with extensive blockchain gaming experience, aim to democratize game development and reduce production barriers. Jake Song, co-founder of Nexon, will advise Verse8, which seeks to transform interactive media creation by automating art, code, and design processes. The platform integrates on-chain ownership and licensing, enabling creators to retain attribution and earn revenue, marking a shift in digital content creation and distribution.
