VALR, Africa's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trade volume, has partnered with financial services platform Mukuru to introduce a USD Coin (USDC) wallet in South Africa. This initiative aims to enhance financial access in regions affected by currency volatility. Mukuru's users can now purchase, hold, and sell USDC via WhatsApp, offering a hedge against local currency fluctuations.
The partnership leverages VALR's extensive trading infrastructure, which processed $9 billion in volume over the past year, and Mukuru's customer base of over 17 million. This collaboration seeks to provide seamless savings and investment opportunities, expanding the reach of stablecoin technology in Africa.
