Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree to establish a special economic zone named Besqala Mining Valley in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, dedicated to cryptocurrency mining. Miners operating within this zone will benefit from tax exemptions until January 1, 2035. Companies in the zone will have access to a unified energy system powered by renewable and hydrogen energy sources, and the crypto assets produced can be freely traded on both domestic and international platforms.
Currently, Uzbekistan enforces strict regulations on Bitcoin mining and trading, allowing only legal entities to operate through state-licensed service providers, with peer-to-peer transactions prohibited.
