U.S. Treasury yields surged to multi-month highs during Asian trading hours as inflation concerns intensified. The yield on the two-year Treasury reached 4.064%, marking its highest point since February 2025, according to Tradeweb data. Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury yield climbed to a one-year high of 4.530%, and the 30-year yield hit 5.071%, the highest since July 2025.
These increases come as the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed, adding to inflationary pressures. Although yields slightly retreated after reaching these peaks, they remain 6-8 basis points above the previous trading day's levels.
