The U.S. Treasury has launched a Quantum-Ready Working Group to help the financial sector transition to post-quantum technologies in an orderly and operationally resilient way. The public-private group will align with the G7 Cyber Experts Group roadmap for post-quantum cryptography migration. The working group will operate across three tracks: industry coordination and post-quantum cryptography migration, third-party and vendor readiness, and risks tied to digital assets and emerging technologies. It will bring together government agencies, financial institutions, market infrastructure providers, technology vendors, and other private-sector participants to identify key dependencies, improve cryptographic agility and interoperability, strengthen protections for critical financial infrastructure, and address implementation challenges linked to third-party reliance and digital assets.
