Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy has raised concerns over potential criminal activity involving a $500 million transaction between UAE investors and Trump-affiliated crypto company World Liberty Financial (WLFI). Murphy claims that Aryam Investment, linked to UAE Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, acquired a 49% stake in WLFI just days before Trump's inauguration. Allegedly, $187 million of this investment went to Trump family entities, and $31 million to those linked to Trump's Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff. Murphy's Senate testimony highlighted the alleged secret payments and subsequent approval of UAE's access to advanced US AI technology, previously restricted. He described the situation as corruption and potential bribery, warning of inevitable legal consequences. Trump has denied knowledge of the investment, stating his sons managed the deal.
