U.S. labor data showed upward revisions to nonfarm payrolls for June and July, with the combined gain increased by 55,000 from prior estimates. June payroll growth was revised up from 20,000 to 31,000, while July was revised from a decline of 23,000 to an increase of 21,000.
August nonfarm payrolls rose by 162,000, well above the average monthly increase of 31,000 over the past 12 months.
