The United States, Japan, Singapore, and 16 other countries have agreed to continue allowing duty-free e-commerce transactions. This decision comes after discussions at the World Trade Organization (WTO) reached an impasse. The agreement aims to facilitate cross-border digital trade by maintaining the current practice of not imposing customs duties on electronic transmissions, a policy that has been in place since 1998. This move is expected to support the growth of digital economies and enhance international trade relations among the participating nations.
